You will learn to systematically apply the scientific method to dissect the complex biology of disease vector mosquitoes. You will perform experimental research addressing the feasibility of blocking the transmission of devastating human pathogens, such as Plasmodium (malaria) and Dengue virus, while deciphering the molecular mechanisms of the mosquito immune system and exploring mosquito-bacteria interactions to develop novel control strategies.
Beyond the bench, you will learn to write effectively and persuasively for high-impact journals and grant applications and to deliver influential oral scientific presentations. You will become a member of a worldwide community of vector biologists and a family of colleagues sharing a passion for infectious disease eradication. Most importantly, you will have fun!
